Here is the scary mary movie I showed in the VITTA presentation.  I have downloaded a heap of these recuts to show students the power of sound and editing in movies.  Over the next few weeks I will be getting my students to have a go at recutting their own films.  I will post the results.  The rest of the files for my presentation are two posts down and the movies are slowly coming

Spoke about how the quality control model of delivering a one size fits all approach to curriculum did not and does not work.  Heppell spoke about how the future is now about schools using the known right ingredients to make a school curriculum and a school which is the best fit for the students and community. If you continue to work with the same recipe in schools each year kids will get sick of the taste.  Knowledge is suddenly spectacularly cheap and accessible.  He then spoke about www.teachers.tv and how this website provides people with a window into classrooms across the world, this is wonderful yet schools are blocking youtbe at an alarming rate when what we need to look at is educating about how to share and collaborate using iCT effectively. 
   Heppell then showed different teaching and learning spaces across the world and how schools are rethinking how they setup spaces.  Spaces have become fluid which allows for the agility needed to keep the recipe different in schools and allow for constant innovation.  All around the world people and schools are experimenting with design.  This made me think of how we can work with our spaces in our school.

and some schools showing astonishing progress when things are right

National policy should be
“we could do this….
this is our time…..
this is what we are good at”
School policy should be
we don’t know how good our children are .. and I missed the rest.

This presentation made me think about where we are placed as a College and I have to say the future looks bright.
